Q: Should I pull a credit report or background reports on my employments?
A: Yes, you should conduct these screenings before finalizing any hiring! If the employee has a criminal history, the employer would be responsible for the employee’s misconduct during company hours. If this person injured or assaulted a fellow co-worker because you failed to pull a report, you as the employer would be responsible.

Q: How do I dispute inaccuracies on my credit report?
A: The process requires several steps. First, obtain the name, address, and phone number of the Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) that supplied the report. Second, send a letter to the CRA that reported the alleged inaccuracies. Third, ensure that you provide correct, valid and relevant information to the CRA. Fourth, the CRA has 30 days to respond and will investigate your alleged inaccuracies. If the CRA finds inaccuracies they will be removed from your file. More info here.
